The aftermkt catalogs list replcment taper bearing kits to swap out the orig ball bearings on my '52 3100 front end. They do not sell the bearings individually and will not divulge the numbers. I've had no luck on the I-net. Was wondering if anyone could supply the #'s for the (2) bearings and seal. thanks. Jim

I don't have the part numbers but in addition to the bearings and seals, you'll need the inner and outer races for both sides.

Bill, thanks for the numbers! they almost co-incide with the original New Departure #'s I hope they check out. I checked out your pics also, brought back some memories. In a previous life as a fireman in a large Neastern city, local scrap yards would bring these type vehicles to our training grounds so we could play with our toys n torches, If we only knew!!! thanks again fellas.

you can also just take the race and bearing with you and match it up at the bearing place or parts store

So what your are saying, rustednuts, is that the bearings changed in 54 to another application. I always thought the that car and truck spindles were the same from 49 to 55.1, making the bearings the same. H-m-m-m. Learn something every day.

I didnt say that. I used my master parts manual which only covers 1929-1953. 1954-1959 is probably the same bearing.

yes they are wrencher, otherwise known as B01 and B52 ... the ones I listed above are the only thing anyone's come up with here for rollers - although the bearing shop I checked with shows them different dimensions than the original ball bearings

I ordered from Jim Carter's when they had their 25% off sale and they just came in. It appears that they ordered them from Classic Performance Products.

hey! it does help, roadmarks, and interestingly it confirms what local bearing suppliers have told me, there is no exact roller replacement for the B01 and B52 [or B40] ball bearings
comparison [roller specs from MBS site, ball specs from RockAuto]:

inner: 909052R - bore=32.550mm - outer dia.=72.260mm - outer race width=19.00mm
inner: B40[Ball] - bore=31.760mm - outer dia.=65.1256mm - width=19.2786mm

outer: 909001R - bore=19.057mm - outer dia.=52.832mm - outer race width=14.00mm
outer: 909067R - bore=19.057mm - outer dia.=52.832mm - outer race width:13.00mm
outer B01 [ball] - bore=19.044mm - outer dia.=52.8447mm - width=18.1102mm

lets you guys choose if you wanna make the change - with stock brakes and correct tire size, I decided there was no reason to "upgrade" something that's proved perfectly functional for 50 years
