years, isn't it?
If you can find a machinist willing to do it, one option is to machine off the old threads, then machine a threaded ring
that slides/presses onto the spindle. Then weld that on. But it won't be real cheap, so if it was me I'd keep calling boneyards, etc.

Sometimes replacing a part is way cheaper than repairing it. | | |
