How rare are these trucks? I would love to find one, but there are probably barely any left. I don't think too many were made. Also does any one know what years they were made? I would love to find one any year, as I love all stove bolts.

Anything before would have been aftermarket, although, GMC did make a hanfull of what one could call a "crew cab" in the early '30s. But these were not pickups, but custom order tractor tailor trucks. International had a crew cab truck at least as far back as '54, they also produced a crew cab truck with a very short bed at that time, the Travellette (and the autoamkers think they came up with something new! HA! )

I've seen a number of pictures of railroad stuff where they're seen Bill | | | | Joined: Jul 2005 Posts: 595 Shop Shark | Shop Shark Joined: Jul 2005 Posts: 595 | the park service and railroad used them. | | | | Joined: Sep 2001 Posts: 29,262 Bubba - Curmudgeon | Bubba - Curmudgeon Joined: Sep 2001 Posts: 29,262 | | | | | ZooKeeper Unregistered | ZooKeeper Unregistered | That's just the thing I need to put doors in my panel/bus...Joe | | | | Joined: Apr 2005 Posts: 2,832 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: Apr 2005 Posts: 2,832 | I had a 68 four door 3/4 ton that was built to be used as an airport freight loading/unloading truck. There was a conveyor belt set up on it that was mounted on the front bumper and rear utility bumper. The high end was at the front and could be raised or lowered. This was removed when I bought it. It had extremely low gearing, probably so it could creep up to the side of a plane, and had never been registered since it never left the airport. As stated by others it had to be custom built (good job) because the rear doors also had vent windows. We registered it, stuck an old Borg-Warner OD trans in it and pulled our race car trailer with it for 4 or 5 years trouble free.
