16 August 2007 Update
# 1848

From Tim :

Hi all! I thought I'd update my Gallery photos.  If you remember, my truck was hit in January 2007 while parked on the street. (Here's a picture of that cold windy night.)  After some arguing with the insurance company, they agreed to fix my truck. It was actually in the body shop longer than I had the truck!  A donor truck was found locally that gave up a hood, grille support, and radiator support.

We added a new chrome grille, new parking lamp bezels, a chrome bumper, and painted the area behind the grille a groovy gun-metal gray.  I hope to get the interior and roof painted to match this winter.

I've also added a set of 17" Corvette rally wheels and 60 series tires, a chrome rear bumper, and a no-notch fender (I bought from RJ). The body shop painted them for me at no extra charge.  I replaced the 42 year old radiator, threw in a new starter, and a few other parts and she's running like a dream.

Along with the new cab color, I hope to drop the truck a few inches, switch out the floor shift with a column shift, and put in an original bench seat I recently had reupholstered.

She's a work in progress but she gets me to the Home Depot and back every weekend and draws a lot of attention.

Hope to see you all again soon!

From Tim :

Hey there! This 1965 C-10 SWB Stepside was my first eBay vehicle purchase. I bought it back in October and got to drive it for about a month before the snow hit.

I parked in front of my house one cold windy night. An unlicensed, uninsured driver, (in a Ford no less) hit the front end at about 30 mph. Thankfully, the damage was cosmetic with no frame or radiator damage. It’s currently in the shop being repaired so I’ll get more photos on the page soon.

After a couple of purchases from fellow Stovebolters, it’ll have a new no-notch fender (RJ), and an automatic column (4-5-6 Chevy Trucks) installed. I put on new chrome bumpers just before the accident, and as soon as I get it back, I plan to install new 17” Corvette rallys from Stockton Wheel, lower it 2” in the front, 3” in the back, a newly upholstered bench seat to replace the Ranger buckets currently in it. Then I'll have a little practice with the paint gun and the roof and area behind the grill will be gunmetal gray to match the new interior.
