Some where a while ago I saw a 65' chevy crew cab ( 4 door) pickup. How rare are these trucks? I would love to find one, but there are probably barely any left. I don't think too many were made. Also does any one know what years they were made? I would love to find one any year, as I love all stove bolts. wave

All of them made in that era were custom made, not GM factory made. I think the first factory crew cab was 1973.

International made crew cabs at least as early as 1966. I passed one in a farmer's field the other day near Longmont, Colorado. Here is a photo of a '68 Int'l crew cab: http://www.classictrucks.com/events/0701cl_goodguys_nashville_nationals/photo_07.html

Don't read the directions, that'd be too easy.

GM offerd their first factory crew cabs in '73, as Oldsub states. Anything before would have been aftermarket, although, GMC did make a hanfull of what one could call a "crew cab" in the early '30s. But these were not pickups, but custom order tractor tailor trucks.
International had a crew cab truck at least as far back as '54, they also produced a crew cab truck with a very short bed at that time, the Travellette (and the autoamkers think they came up with something new! HA! )

Back in the 60's, the crew would simply sit in the pickup box.

mighta been this one you saw rustmaster - I believe there were a number of 60s crew cabs made for various railroads, maybe factory or Armbruster for the factory ... I've seen a number of pictures of railroad stuff where they're seen

I had a 68 four door 3/4 ton that was built to be used as an airport freight loading/unloading truck. There was a conveyor belt set up on it that was mounted on the front bumper and rear utility bumper. The high end was at the front and could be raised or lowered. This was removed when I bought it. It had extremely low gearing, probably so it could creep up to the side of a plane, and had never been registered since it never left the airport. As stated by others it had to be custom built (good job) because the rear doors also had vent windows. We registered it, stuck an old Borg-Warner OD trans in it and pulled our race car trailer with it for 4 or 5 years trouble free.

Overzealousness has struck once again. Too bad that ebay link was deleted. I would have liked to have seen that pic. I don't see a problem if it related to the subject matter.
