Can you buy them at a NAPA or do you have to go through ChevyDuty or other classic vendor? Just want to put fresh shock on but don't need to be original to be happy. What have you all done? | | |

Or does anyone have a spare set of original 50's brackets so I can update my 48 Chevy to tube shocks? I have been daily driving it with wore out knee-action shocks for only about 20 yrs (off and on), so figure it was about time to get "real" shocks on the little ole' '48.

I measured the position for the front mounts from another 53 and bolted them on using Grade 8 bolts. However I still have not mounted the rear brackets and wonder how critical the angle should be. | | |

NAPA changed the number for the rear shocks to #94004 and they were $11.90 each. Best part is that they have 2 in stock at my local store. Now the task of removing the old original ones. | | |
