From Glenn:

When I started the frame off resto, I wanted to bring my truck back to original condition. That is often easier said than done. I think for the most part, it is close.

I did have a body shop do the body work. Cab corners, floor, kick panel and cowl panels were all replace. There is no bondo on the truck. I think the body man did a wonderful job. Panels that looked straight to me were judged as terrible by the shop.

The truck was blasted inside and out. It took me several months to find the proper color engine paint for that year. The interior paint was the most difficult. When paint was ordered, it always looked too dark. I had to a lot of traveling to junk yards and car shows to find the proper color.

Most of the truck is proper. But not all. In 1952 copper and nickel were in short supply due to the Korean war. So, most parts that were normally chromed were now painted. My truck has chrome hub caps instead of painted and the engine is a 235 not a 216. I'm looking for a 216 now. Also the tires are not B.F. Goodrich. I added a right tail light for future turn signals.

This truck is a driver but I still wanted it to be as original as possible. Even the seat cover is the original one.

One thing I have learned from my first restro is that it is never done.

From Glenn:

This is my 1952 Chevy 1/2-ton. I have just completed a frame off resto on it. I didn't get it done in time to drive this summer so it will have to wait until spring.

This is the only snow this truck will seen again. The entire truck is original except for the '51 235 under the hood.

There are still a few things to get such as the hubcaps and bumpers. Hopefully for Xmas.

Happy 'Bolten,
