I have a '46 1/2 ton and i have changed over the engine to a 235 late model. I'm trying to add a 420 4speed and am having trouble getting the brake and clutch pedals to work with it. Does anyone make a bracket to make this work easy? How about some pictures of what you may have done? Cecil............

Im not sure it will quite help, Im not really to sure what the linkage is on the pickups...

Heres what it looked like all done in the coe.

There was a pivot point off the bellhousing that worked in reverse of a typical setup. After removing it I found it would fit on the bar sticking out of the front portion of the bellhousing and just fit. I ended up shortening the linkage and custom making another to actuate the clutch. Heres the linkage that connects to the clutch fork prior to being bent.

Heres the view of the original linkage. Hope that gives you an idea!

Whats different about the brake linkage???

Good luck! Jeff

If you find the pedals off of a 1.5 ton truck they will swap over to your 1/2 ton. The pedals mount to the bellhousing the same way and come up trough the floor the same way, but the master cylinder mounts to the frame, using a rod and clevis, and a lever and another rod and clevis to activate the master cylinder. It sounds complicated, but it gives you more room for the master cylinder... the sm420 is apretty wide transmission. It would be a good time to upgrade to a dual master at this time as well.
