I bought 2 sets from HF and they are crap. I can't move the front of my truck at all on concrete with them and it's got a 235 and I weigh more than that. I could move the rear around but with more effert than I would like.
Do the more expensive sets roll easy enough for one man to move a truck around on? I'd like to stash the truck next to the garage wall during the week and move it over on weekends to work on it.
Let's here where you got dollys (dollies?) from and how well they work for you.

I have a 63 K20 with a big block, auto trans and a transfer case to add to the wieght and can move it around pretty good. I didn't expect to just glide it around the shop but I can move it all by myself.

It is all in the casters .
I went with a set from Northern tool with the BEST composite casters .....they work great !...now they were double the price ..Go Figure.
I can do it myself with a little effort but 2 guys can move mine with NP. i have trouble movin mine myself alone more with controling the direction it wants to go but with a helper it goes smooth.

You've been around the block, do ya think the ones ya got from Maynard’s are any better than the ones from HF? Other than cutting up our nice urethaned floor with a steel wheel I don’t see why the HF ones wouldn’t work all right. The cast wheels are crowned so they should roll fairly easy. I’m sure the more expensive casters have ball brgs. instead of just a drilled hole and the wheels are probably urethane also.

That helps with my 3/4 ton sized tires. I've never used HF dollies, just looked at them, so I can't say how well they work compared to mine. They also have the poly wheels so no floor damage from these either. Wait for a sale at Menards and you should be able to pick them up fairly reasonably. Also, I bought mine from Menards before we had a HF store in our area,
