on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Nov 2007 Posts: 19 New Guy | | New Guy Joined: Nov 2007 Posts: 19 | I'm heading to Atlanta for the weekend tomorrow to attempt cranking my grandfathers Viking 40 (not sure what year). Hasn't cranked since 1998.
The nearest parts store is 1 hour away. Any special tools, parts, or other stuff I should take with me? | | | | | Joined: Feb 2006 Posts: 162 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Feb 2006 Posts: 162 | A fresh battery, a small gas can and rubber fuel line (in case you need to gravity feed the carb), some electrical connectors, wire, crimpers, ect., maybe some plug wires in case rats have gotten to them, engine oil, coolant or water.
Both my big bolts (56 4400 and 59 Viking 60) had not run in 5 to 8 years, and with those items above, I got them both to run and drive, but they both still have no brakes...Good luck, be patient and have fun! Send us some picturs and let us know how you make out!

(a lot of the older terminals the bolts are too corroded to properly clamp.)
