You say you tried a screwdriver and bit? How about clamping that clutch head bit in a pair of vise grips at 90 degrees and see what that does. | | | | | Joined: Aug 2005 Posts: 6,377 Ex Hall Monitor | | Ex Hall Monitor Joined: Aug 2005 Posts: 6,377 | Might be comparing apples to oranges here but the anti-squeek on my 38's running boards was riveted on and the running boards had to come off.

If so mine were held on with small hex head machine bolts which went thru a metal strip. Accessed from underneath. If these are not what you mean, disregard. | | | | | Joined: Dec 2001 Posts: 14,522 Moderator: Welcome Centre, Southern Bolters, Legion Hall | | Moderator: Welcome Centre, Southern Bolters, Legion Hall Joined: Dec 2001 Posts: 14,522 | if you are right olblu49 I got mine off by grinding off the heads and then grabbing hold with a pair of vise grips. | | | | | Joined: Dec 2004 Posts: 322 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Dec 2004 Posts: 322 | Yea I have tried a clutch head screw driver...can't get to them from underneath because of the runningboard. I did try the clutch head bit in my 1/4" drive ratchet but not enough room due to the same reason. I haven't tried the vice grips yet...thanks ghostrider, I'll let ya know.

I love em'!! So if ya cut them off...how do ya start the new ones? The problem, is not having enough room to work with in the first place!

I believe I have not been able to break even one loose. But I do love my Milwaukee 4.5" grinder and punch.
