I've been looking for a decent bolt for some years now but just could'nt find the right one at a fair price nearby(southern Oregon). On a trip to Calf I saw one for sale in a side yard but a widow lady wanted all the money that her hubby had put into it for 10 years. This poor guy was way over his head & I could see that I would have to go over some of the things he had repaired or replaced. I gave this lady a fair offer & my fone # with a promise that I would restore the truck the way her husband would have wanted. Months later smile I got the call at my $.

this is a hard room for sure...I'm trying to get the hang of sending pics & went thru the posting on webshots so I'm confident that even with my limited intellect, I'll get it. The truck is a 49 gmc 100 with the 228. We got it running yesterday but the carb needed to be hot tanked. It has been sitting since the old guy passed 14 mths ago & no one could figure out what all the hanging wires were about. We also had zero brakes but that was an easy fix this morning. Pics are coming for sure...

What a weekend...we got the truck running well after the fuel cleanout & carb boilout. We were able to test the clutch, brakes & charging system as well as drive it for a distance. It's a great feeling when you get one of these old 'ladies' up & running. I also have been doing the viniger de-rust trick from the tips section & i have it going well. It's a lot cheaped doing that than the powder coating guy. Pics are coming.
