Hi, Folks! I did do a search through the forums on this subject and didn't come up with much, so I have to ask... Where is the best place to get parts for my 51' Chevy 3100? I've already got a Brother's catalog as well as LMC. I'm pretty sure they both sell the same parts (am I right?) and only the prices and shipping are different. Has anyone dealt with other companies that they can clue me to? For background, I'm new to this forum (obviously) and I just bought the truck to fix up a bit to give to my dad in a couple of months from now so I need to get movin' double quick. Can anyone help? Thanx!

I have bought quite a few things from American Classic Truck and am happy with them. Service is good, I got some wrong parts(my own fault) and I called them & they got me the correct ones and were very fair with me on the returns.

No matter what you buy from the repop vendors check it out well. If you find the parts inferior do let the vendor know.
I have 5 AD hubcaps that have the "GM authorized" sticker on the inside and noticed that one was rusting through from the inside. It has never been used, ia a spare.

Believe it or not....many engine and related parts will be available right at your local parts suppliers. AutoZone and Advanced and if they don't have it try NAPA. It doesn't cost anything to give them a call, but better yet, go to the store, find the oldest guy, preferably with a gray beard and thin hair and he'll walk through the books and fulfill your needs. I found that they had starters, generators, water pumps, ignition parts and could get engine rebuild parts at as good prices as the mail order folks without the shipping and waiting for the UPS truck.

I've used all the normal mail order houses for body and specialty parts...they are all dealing with the same suppliers and their prices are fairly competative. Sometimes the solution to your parts needs are right under your nose!!
