Anyone got a source for hood bumper rubbers besides LMC? or American classic They are only about 8 bucks and I am running into a $20 minimum order. Also where is the best price on Dolphin gauges or similar?

If you're referring to the small round rubber pads that keeps the hood from rubbing metal to metal, I found the local hardware store stocks various sizes & had the sizes I needed.

by "local hardware" do you mean the chains like Ace Hardware or Mom & Pop that have been around for a few years??? Gazim, if you do not find them try JimCarter as they only charge the actual shipping cost? Now, what hardware store was that again?

I go to Elliot's Hardware in Plano, TX. I believe it is an Ace Hardware. I am not sure if you can find these bumpers (rubber baby bumpers) at any of the big box stores.

I bought my Dolphin Gauges out of an ad in Streetrodder magazine directly from Dolphin. Don't know if that was the best price or not, but I did it anyway. Couldn't get them to work, so I sent them back. They e-mailed me shortly and said they tested them and they were bad and sent me a new set that worked. One thing about them to remember: use all the sending units that come with them. Tried them using the temp and gas sending units I already had in and they didn't work. Put in the sending units Dolphin supplied and they worked fine.

Could you post a web site for Dolphin? I tried to google it and all I'm getting are the vendors that sell them.

gauges? I buy them at swap meets. They are a plentiful and usually can be bought for around $5.

I buy many for parts.

Well I am really opting for somthing new(Ill see you my old ones) Want to go to just three gauges in a aluminum panal, speedo, tach, and a 4 in one for the others. Dolphin seems to be the only making what I want.

I ordered my gauges directly from dolphin using the website above. They are accurate and work great. I had to morph their fuel sending unit with mine for it to work, but not a big deal. Other than that, I'm very happy about them.

Well I'll be darned. I never realized Dolphin Gauges was run by the same people as EZWiring.

Went to a trade show up here and one of the suppliers of autobody fasteners has them in their catalog along with plastic bolts, fender washers, etc.
In the auto part stores they have them in big divided drawers with part numbers on the outside.
I agree with you about the high shipping costs on small items, a perfect example is Mar-K when shipping to Canada. In some cases shipping ($18.00) is too expensive for the bedroll reflectors they sell.

Hey big daddy, Looks almost like what I want. Have a 62 so the mount is the same. I want to stay to just three gauges. What did you polish the panel bezel with? Mine stays a dull alum. finish.

A scotchbrite pad to remove the paint and then Norton 3x sanding sponges to 150 grit. It probably looks more shiny in the pics. It really has more of a "platinum" finish.

Yup I tried to polish mine and got the same soft finish, no shine that would last. Wonder what kind of metal it is. POT? even regular steel will polish better than that stuff

Have them shipped to someone in the states(me?)
and small parts can go parcel post fairly cheap. sent stuff to Mapes cheap. probably no duty if from a private party??
