For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: May 2004 Posts: 920 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: May 2004 Posts: 920 | Has anyone done this AND kept the stock height, 6 lug pattern, and torsion bar IFS? A couple of the usual vendors have the kits, but none with spindles for retaining stock height. One of them has everything I want except that their spindles give a 2 1/2" drop. I also need a kit with the provisions for the hydraulic clutch. I'm hoping someone out there has done this. I dig those hoods. Thanks for the link. That's the best bet I've got so far with what I've found. They say on that page that it may not work with factory drum wheels. My wheels were made by Stockton Wheel with original centers on new rims to allow for tie rod clearance AND accept good radial tires. They are still mounted on the same original factory drums. I'll have to check it out. Cheers! | | | | | Joined: Aug 2006 Posts: 98 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Aug 2006 Posts: 98 | Sorry I couldn't be more help to you.I'll look thru some of my catalogs and see if I can find something else.If I do I'll drop you a line. | | | | | Joined: May 2004 Posts: 920 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: May 2004 Posts: 920 | Don't be sorry yet. It's actually not bad and they include everything. Shouldn't skimp on the brakes anyway. We just ordered and got mine (but we went with the drop). Give them a call. 800-522-5004.

If he doesn't already have a bracket for your truck he might make a one for you. Good prices, nice product. | | | | | Joined: Jun 2000 Posts: 2,773 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Jun 2000 Posts: 2,773 | Originally posted by bigmacdaddy: They say on that page that it may not work with factory drum wheels. The brake caliper will not clear the corner radius on the older wheels.
