Does anyone know if there is a window kit to convert a small back glass cab into a big back glass cab. About 2 weeks ago I was at a local cruise nite, and in talking to another stovebolter he said that he had read an article in (he forgot) a magazine that had an article on how to purchase a window kit. If anyone knows of this kit, or what magazine article, or any supplier that would have these available, I would like to know so I could undertake this project. I have a '64 C-60 2 ton, one owner, with NO RUST, and I really want a big back glass.

Converting the '60-'66 Chevy truck from a small back glass to a big back glass is not done with a kit. It is all custom fabricated hand work. The following tech article will give you a play-by-play of the process.

All it takes is a new inner cab panel, the glass and a new window molding. Of coarse you will need to cut the outer sheet metal to the large window demensions. I saved a big back window inner panel from a 66 that I scrapped but Arizona is a long ways from me,

You might want to think twice about the big back window seeing's ta how you live in Phoenix. It's going to be like sitting under a huge sun lamp cooking the back of your head.

Classic Trucks had an article a few months ago on converting a 60-66 to a big back window.

Its a rather good write-up on the conversion.

I'm tellin' ya, all you need is a donor cab with the big back window to rob the inner sheet metal panel from. It's just spot welded in. I'm going to the big window on my 63 and I saved an inner panel from a 66 also. If anyone wants to do this conversion, come and get it,

Find a rotted out big back window cab and cut it out.

There are no inner cab panels for converting the small back glass to a bid back glass. A donor cab or hand-fabricated panels are the only options, as shown in the Classic Trucks conversion article. I see '60-'66 Chevy truck cabs with the big back glass on eBay. I have purchased a couple myself. Good luck with your project.
