Does this look like an original horn to anyone? It supposedly came from a "bone stock" '49.

No
But you never know, if you are interested in it, ask the seller who made it. If original, it was made by Delco and would have that name on it somewhere.

It definately does not look like the one on my 48, or any other AD truck I've seen unless it came off of a tractor size truck,

Might be, but off a 1 1/2 or 2 ton truck.

I have several of them that were on my trucks from the 3100 to the 6400. I beleive they are a factory upgrade horn, I also have the smaller ones that mount on the firewall.

There seems to have been one "trumpet" style Chevrolet horn.

That style horn was standard from 47-52 and was mounted on the intake manifold.

There were a variety of seashell horns, due to the paired high note and lo note, and the left and right mounts, and different mounts on cars and trucks.

The dual seashell horns were mounted in a variety of locations but the the firewall over the deluxe heater hole was the GM-designated location.

In 1953, a single seashell horn was standard and it was mounted on the intake manifold.
In 1954, a single seashell horn was standard and it was mounted on the grill side of the radiator frame.

That eBay horn looks a lot like this horn and this horn.

My guess is that eBay set-up has the wrong horn mounting bracket?

My '52 has the trumpet horn as shown in pictures by Tim. But, it doesn't work. Mine was mounted on the inner fender.

I will tell you they are easy to disassemble and work on. You may just find the circuit needs repair or just a horn adjustment and good cleaning.
It's worth a shot to try and fix it.
