I just ordered a radiator for my '62, and figuring that bigger is better, I ordered the 3/4-ton radiator. There weren't any dimensions in the catalog about the mounting flange, but in the picture (boy that stounds dumb), the flange on the 1/2-ton radiator looks much wider than the flange on the 3/4-ton radiator.
Of course, after ordering it, I looked at the one in my truck, and the flange doesn't look all that wide.
HOWEVER, my truck was originally a California Forestry Department vehicle, so they might have ordered the bigger radiator with the 283/granny 4spd. Maybe. I hope.

So, will a 3/4-ton radiator bolt to the core support? When I've looked at the reproduction core supports, I've never seen them specified as 1/2- or 3/4 ton, nor have I seen a difference in any other front end sheet metal.

Any info would be appreciated.
Thanks,

Brad

As far as I know, the radiators were all the same in 1/2 ton and 3/4 ton trucks. They also used the same radiator for the inline 6s and small block V-8s as well. This is all according to my shop manual and owners guide.

There are several different sizes of radiator for these trucks. You may need to find a different top mount for it and move the lower mounts down into the lower part of the radiator crossmember to fit a large radiator where a small was. All of the radiators will fit all of the trucks with the proper mounts,
