im fixing a 52 for a daily driver i want to make it look very clean im thing of getting rid of the turn signal and only having one tailight like it was when new thats leagel sence it was that way new. back to hand signels i live out in the country anyone else have there truck set up like this i dont think i need seatbelt either is that correct for wa. state it might not be the smartest thing but i think it can be done i will mainly just be driving it around the farm and my small town on sunny days

I believe the 2 tail lights are compulsary even if they were not originally equipped. You say its a daily driver I shure wouldn,t drive it without turn signals. I never add seat belts to my old trucks in fact I don,t use them on my car. I guess a guy should.

If you don't want the factory taillights sticking out, you can use the bed roll lights from Jim Carter- LED brake and turn signal lights that fit inside the bedroll!

Every vehicle manufactured or assembled after January 1, 1965, shall be equipped with at least two lap-type safety belt assemblies for use in the front seating positions.

Every passenger car manufactured or assembled after January 1, 1968, shall be equipped with a lap-type safety belt assembly for each permanent passenger seating position.

Every passenger car manufactured or assembled after January 1, 1968, shall be equipped with at least two shoulder harness-type safety belt assemblies for use in the front seating positions.

Every pickup manufactured or assembled after January 1, 1972, shall be equipped with safety belts.

Rule of thumb: If your vehicle was originally equipped with safety belts, they must be in good working order and must be used.

I guess I would always run the extra lights to help the idiots out there see me. I could never figure out how someone couldn't see an old vehicle. To me they stick out like a sore thumb.

In the dark with no lights old trucks stick out to me like they are in a spotlight...must be a bolter thing.

After being broken to many times by idiots someone allowed a drivers license, I feel better with seat belts and a seat with a head rest, air bags and anti lock brakes. It's hard to beat the pleasure of an original bolt though.

I could go either way on seatbelts (I don't have them in mine.) But I sure wouldn't go without the turn signals. You could put the second tail light on, and it would stll look stock, even though it technically isn't. And on the front, get the double wire sockets, and put them in the parking lights. No one else has to know, but you will be a lot safer in the long run.

Since there aren't any shocks between the bumper and the frame on these trucks, and the steering columns are not collabsible and thus prone to impaling drivers in accidents, I think seat belts, brake lights and turn signals are indispensible. That's just me though- 38 years old and having been in a couple of car accidents, I'm safety minded. When I was younger I wasn't so aware or concerned, though I wish I had been!
