They were just on a wooden panel and illuminated. However when I was looking at them the salesman turned a switch and said this is how they look when you put on the brakes. I almost went blind! So bright! I started to wonder if in fact they are that bright or did he have some sort of super dynamo hidden behind that panel. According to the electrician installing the LED stoplights in town they are a full 100% brighter than incandecent type.

Had to press the socket a little deeper so the bulb would clear the glass lens. Only cost 8.95 for both lamps. Now when I hit the brakes I have a full 20 watts blairing at you.

They've also got led taillights for many different older cars/trucks.

Much brighter than incandecents and they won't burn out. I'm running APC amber led 1157 type bulbs in the front too, keeps the clear lens with amber illumination. Just make sure to put in an electronic flasher or your signals may not work properly.

has some good info. They also sell the proper load resistors so that your stock flashers and stuff should still work with the LED replacements.
