Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Jul 2005 Posts: 227 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Jul 2005 Posts: 227 | ok talking about a 305sbc. my th350 needs vacuum as does my power brake booster. i am only aware of 2 ports to get vacuum from. 1 is the carb base. I was told this was varible and i dont want to use this for my power booster. the other port is behind the carb on the manifold between the distributer and carb. the rear port is hooked into my th350.
what is the proper way to hook both the transmission and the booster up and which ports? should i t off the rear port for both?

One is the manifold and the other is the carb. One is ported and the other isn't. For the Booster you'll probably want it from the manifold directly. If there is something else connected using a Tee, that shouldn't be a problem.
Whereever you get the vacuum to the booster from don't forget to put a filter in the line to prevent unburned fuel and crankcase gases from getting to the booster 'cause they'll ruin the diaphragm.
Autozone has those filters in their HELP product line with the other red blister pack things. Napa has them too.
