on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Mar 2006 Posts: 1 Junior Member | | Junior Member Joined: Mar 2006 Posts: 1 | I would like to put a trailer hitch on my 66 Chevy. But I have not found one listed for a short wide bed. Most list one for long wide bed. Some where I saw a document that told what needed to be done to put a hitch on my truck. Anyone know where that document might be or how to put a hitch on this truck? | | | | | Joined: Dec 2003 Posts: 1,144 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Dec 2003 Posts: 1,144 | perhaps lenght of the bed doesn't matter with the add on reciever type hitches the hitch assembly bolts to the frame not the bed. you may have to go with a universal fit which means drilling holes in the frame. if it's for a light duty trailer you can get by with finding a step bumper and using exsiting holes | | | | | Joined: Feb 2001 Posts: 4,095 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Feb 2001 Posts: 4,095 | auto zone and advance auto have an adjustable hitch for about 120.00 i think it will work on most frames. ron

It fit perfectly but I had to drill the holes in the frame. I think most farm supply places carry those. I just measured the frame and got one that fit.I dont like home made ones unless you are a really good welder, which I am not.
