I wish I was good at that sort of thing. We call the 1940 3/4 ton "The old Truck". As in wanna go for a ride in "The old truck" But I have two trucks. Both are 1940 Chevy trucks. Naming will have to come in at some point once it is more than a frame and cab.
As an example of my inability to name things. I have a 1960 Austin Healey "Bugeye" Sprite. We call that "The Bugeye". I am very attached to all my vehicles as are my kids. Just haven't gotten around to better handles for these rides.

Well, if you want the name of my truck, you have to see the Second Edition of the 2006 Stovebolt Calendar and see "Miss February". (On sale now!!)
Hint: this truck has fought me tooth and nail throughout the rebuilding process, so I feel the name is certaintly appropriate.
Happened to be notified of the inclusion of my truck in the calendar on my birthday, so it was a nice present.

My tractor had the faded orange A-C paint, and for some reason, the tractor reminded me of my dog. Even the tractor shedded sometimes...parts, that is!

Gertie doesn't shed too many parts. She does have a belt problem in her hind end, though. I need to go and get a replacement for it, 'cause I don't like the sounds it makes when the belt slips.
Interestingly enough, Grandpa has FOUR D17's. (Two series III's and two Series IV's.) They go by the following monikers:
The Gas one
The Diesel one
The Burnt one
The one in the shop
The one in the shop is undergoing a frame-off resto as we speak.
The burnt one was in a barn fire, and grandpa picked it up and redid it.
The other two are his "normal" tractors.
He's also got two Deeres. One's a B, and I have no idea what the other one is. Thanks to the Stovebolt Page, we've been able to share our knowledge and appreciation for the classics.
Can we conclude this discussion by agreeing some folks like to name their trucks and others don't...and perhaps the best thing to do on this posting is to end it there?
