Paint technology is changing all the time, so it takes some effort just to stay current within a given brand. That's not to say a painter couldn't work with whatever you select. But, you might attain better results, with less hassles, by starting with a brand your painter has experience with. Dupont products are excellent, and your painter has somewhat pointed you in that direction. I'd recommend talking with him about the type of finish you want, and go from there.

From past expreiences IMRON is tough to work with,hard to repair and fumes are not good to breath. Also cost like hell. Don't get me wrong it is a strong and durable finish that nothing will hurt. Bur like I said hard to work with. Dupont or PPG are known quality paints, ask the painter which he prefers to work with. And as Stuart said above ask to see some of his past work and talk to the owners and see how happy they are with the work and the finish.
