Did anyone work on their 'Bolts this weekend?

Jr. had to work, but I rebuilt the brakes on the back of the donor frame for his '57 Panel... New wheel cylinders, e-brake cables, and shoes. Cleaned up and painted everything else. Also changed one of the tires by hand. Lots of rain so I didn't do much else.

Finally got my artillery wheels primed/sealed. I'm on the baby steps program.

Got the flywheel, clutch and bellhousing on my new 235. Also got the distributor installed and timed.

Finally have gotten a decent start on rebuilding the front end. Had to get one kingpin pressed out, spindles are rebuilt and ready to go back on. Springs are off and will be out for service this week or next. Steering gear out next for some much needed attention.

just drove it,,,,,after a busy week-end, fishing, family-reunion,car show, grand-kids, and boy ,was it all fun.... just love the old trucks purring like a kitten, thanks for asking,,,,,,,,,,,,Fred

it rained... and rained.... but we needed it, so I pondered working on my truck.

Replacing the floor pans on my 54 GMC..got started this weekend and I hope them have them done by the end of next weekend. Rained here all weekend too.

Got the tranny finished - finally!! Then started on the engine. Put the rings on all the pistons, put the pistons on the connecting rods, got the main bearings and crank shaft set in the block and the main caps on. Will be Plasti-gauging them tonight. Also got the new front wheel bearings installed. One of my more productive weekends on the truck so far.

One more weekend burned on Dad's Skyliner instead of my trucks. That's OK, though. My Dad, husband, sister, and I took off the entire front end from the radiator to the cowl. Pulled the 352 and Cruise-O-Matic.

I've never worked on a car before. Never knew how different they were before from our old trucks. First difference - MY front clip fits under the trucks. Not so with the car. Both of us girls had to convince Dad to jack up the front end, but neither one wanted to say why !

This is our first frame-off project, so we're taking a lot of time with every project. I found out what BAD body work was this weekend (I thought mine was bad - I was wrong). We found the lower inner cowls were nothing more than (drum roll . . .) wadded up tin foil, wrapped with athletic tape, and smoothed over with body filler . What a mess! Oh well, we're making progress at last.

Yesterday morning, I drove the 52 down to the corner to meet the local car guys for breakfast. In the afternoon, my wife and I drove the 46 and the second 52 yesterday afternoon, (in the snow/rain) to a barn dance/potluck.

Today, Columbus Day holiday... Just watched it snow, and snow some more. I've cleaned the walks and driveway 3 times, and got nearly 1-foot of snow back across the drive again.

We got our truck home from the shop this weekend. Drove the heck out of it on Saturday and had a great time. Took it to a local VCCA all Chevy show on Sunday and won an award. The show was great. The show had at least five TF trucks that included one panel truck and a Cameo. There were also plenty of ADs, Art Decos and a few 67-72 trucks too. All of the cars and trucks there were so nice. Many of the vehicles there were ready to be judged and were restored to absolute factory condition. I really enjoyed seeing so many unmodified cars.

We had the truck judged but as we figured, we don't think we faired to well with all of the slight modifications we made. They tell us we will get our score in the mail. No mater how we score, it was still cool to watch the judges poor all over the truck and note every last little detail. I never have actually seen a car judged like that. It was very interesting. And, they were very serious about it and went about it in a very professional style too.

The truck is now home and soon I will get some pictures posted on my website and send some to Peggy for an update to my stovebolt submission.

I hope everyone's weekend was good! We sure enjoyed ours.

Saturday Went to my local Ole Truck bone yard and found some nice little nuggets. Bronco's game Sunday (Broncos won). Avalanche Game tonight (Av's won big & we got to see a hat trick). Kind of an extended weekend with the snow and all. BTW, took my 10 month old to both games. He had a great time. Hope ya'll's weekend was good.

Worked in the store all weekend. Had the Bolt parked out front... she always generates enthusiastic conversation.

I didn't work on The Ox, but I did take my father out for a little drive... then Monday I worked on cleaning up the garage a bit, repacked some stuff and got rid of some of the air in several boxes. I found my 327 buried in the corner, dug it out, then reburied it.

We went to Ruidoso for the weekend to celebrate our 10th aniversary. It was a good time. We stayed in a cabin and just took it easy. The Cowboy Symposium was going on and we took in part of that. I need to get back on my truck. Its parked for now, due to a slipping clutch and the engine needs an overhaul. I am trying to get one of my spare engines going and am concentrating on a 216 I have mounted on the chassis. I will put it in my truck until I get one of my 235's going.
