That yellow truck was on season II called "Butterscorched".. it was the only complete episode of overhaulin' I actually watched.

It started out as an AD style GMC mostly stock, with the exception of a V8.

Boy if they hadda done that to MY truck i'd have been [censored].

what happened to courtney?

Great to see Mike and Charlie from Hot Rod at a place where actual people work on REAL cars. Maybe it's all the show but these guys seem like the real thing.

I wonder if they have some kind of contractual agreement or ? with American Hot Rod. It seems like it was quite awhile after he left Boyd, before Charlie was seen, and/or acknowledged.

They barely showed a gliimpse of Mike, (mostly from the back) and certainly didn't make any mention of him, or show him as part of the build team at the end.

Was this the episode of the car with the hand controls? I watched it but I didn't see Mike. I guess there must be an episode of American Hotrod where evil old Boyd fires Mike too?

That's the one. Mike was shown briefly making the wheels for the Mustang this week.

He was fired a few weeks back by Boyd, after Boyd found out he had been designing motorcycle wheels for Foos while working on Boyd's time.

Boyd sent him home, had the computer geeks come in and seize his computer, and reportedly found designs for Foos on it. This all happened after Dewaine got a phone call from one of his buddies telling him about Mike.

Got to at least give Mike credit for not lying about it, once he was confronted. However, he seemed somewhat confused about how that might constitute a conflict of interest. Not the brightest bulb in the box.

Wow, where did you get the scoop on this? I must say, if there is somebody that bothers me more than Boyd, it is that Dwaine character. I am a pretty low key person but I am sure that I would loose it with that dude!

Did you see the TV commercial the Boyd and the boys are doing? They are peddling for O'Reillys Parts now. Is he that desperate?

Yeah, Duane is a power trippin' brown-noser, isn't he? He drives me nuts. I'm not real fond of Boyd either. Charlie is cool. I'm glad to see him with Foose.

I had heard Boyd has went broke a couple times and after seeing the show I understand why. He seems to have only his ideas for a customer's car, and his way is the only way. I was watching an episode where the customer told the guys working on his car that he intended to drive it on the street and maybe do a little exibition racing. The guys had fabricated a strong center crossmember and nearly had the radiator mounted when Boyd came in and 'threw a Waldo'. He wouldn't listen to his own guys repeating what the customer told them and refused to call the customer to clariy the build.

If I paid the bucks to have Boyd do a car for me (God forbid) he had better do it how I want, not how he wants. He needs to have some 300 lb. gorilla 'educate' him on listening to customers.

I think Duane is just providing theatrical input, like the old man on Orange County Choppers.

It was all revealed on the last new episode of American Hot Rod, about 3 weeks ago. That was the one where they finished up the 59 Chevy, and the matching motorcycle.

I kind of feel the show is like a train wreck. I hate to see it, but I just can't turn away.

I just wish they would quit claiming to build hot-rods. The cars Boyd's best known for, are nothing but very high dollar kit cars.

The one person on the show I do admire, is the guy that hand built the Alumatub, and later the What-The-Hey. Now that was a car!

I must have missed that episode of American Hotrod. It is funny but I got the impression that the show was like a progressive train wreck too! Boyd I think has a few screws loose. Imagine having your wife and your ex-wife working for you at the shop. How stupid is that?

Truckernix, I'm wondering if maybe the ex doesn't own more of that operation than Boyd does. She's probably there keeping an eye on her investment.

I would like to put a 283 v8 in my 49. Can anyone tell me where to get instructions and maybe a aftermaket kit to make it happen.

you may have something there. She seems to get really mean when asked to write a cheque! It looks like a handy place to get some experience and then leave and go to work for someone decent!

And if the reports of Courtney's departure are accurate I'll be able to watch Overhaulin again too! Modelman please keep her quiet I couldn't watch any more for fear she'd open her mouth!

No American Hot Rod last night. More sleep for me.

I figure Foose looks hung over because he both runs his own shop and works on the show's cars and never sleeps.

That or Courtney drove him to drink.

you guys are brutal. i'd much rather watch courtney break windows and remove old sound insulation than the numbnut chris do another lame phone call or continue breating. the guy is all kinds of irritating

Courtney and Chris are both rather annoying, but at least Courtney is HOT. I notice a new woman on Overhaulin'. I think it was on the episode where they "overhauled" the Mustang for the guy in the wheel chair.

I am getting tired of seeing muscle cars on there, but I also understand that the majority of the viewers would rather see a muscle car. Also, do they realize that there are other engines out there. Everything ends up with a crate engine and an automatic transmission, except for the convertible Mopar that the wife insisted that they keep it a manual.

Geez guys!!! Now I know why very few 'bolters actually have finished trucks to show off! You're all wasting your time watching Boyd and his crew hack up old cars. You probably also watch the OCC boys duplicate their last bike with just a different paint job. Let's not forget that the REAL work happens in our own shops. Now let's get out there and work, work, work on those beautiful 'bolts!!!

They're not watching Boyd, they're watching Courtney and Jessie.

So THAT's why nothing ever gets done! But to watch the 10-15 seconds of Courtney and Jessie you have to slog through all of the "Boyd" stuff. Doesn't seem worth it to me.

doing muscle cars on overhauling is better than that honda they did.btw the 52 gmc episode is on at 9 est tonight.

I watch them out in my shop, the best of both worlds. When the TV gets too lame, I crank up the stereo. You know, loud enough to drown out the noise of the air compressor,
