The problem is looking at it dead on it tilts to the left, not huge but enough to notice. The car sat for almost a year on a driveway that also is on a slight hill. And it seems to me that the '55 got comfy leaning that way for so long. I am also sure it did not tilt before it was parked. I asked a few people and they have suggested driving it and it will eventually settle, which sounds way too easy. Any help would grand! Broken leafs are not unusual. Look for visible breaks or cracks in a leaf, or places where the curve of the spring seems to reverse slightly.
This past weekend I removed the front springs from my '55 1st because 4 leafs are broken on the right side. Next weekend I hope to get it back together and start driving it again!

At first I thought it was the front springs so I changed those. But really it is the cab mounts that is missing some rubber. On some this can be rusted out as well. Hopefully yours is just the missing rubber.

I'll take a peek at it and see what I can figure out. I'm hoping for the cab mounts. Odd that we both had the same first posts. Oh well, I'll keep you posted on my progress or lack of.

PJDEE | | | | | Joined: Feb 2001 Posts: 4,095 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Feb 2001 Posts: 4,095 | pjdee, i have the same problem and time won't correct it on its own. my floor is rotted down by the kick panel and has come a way from the floor which supports the floor and keeps it from the truck from settleing over the supports. hope this helps. btw you can get new floor panels from numerous sources. ron

The cab mounts, springs,etc all look good. I am not going to worry about it.It will just look like a fat man is driving it.That will be true anyway.
