If you start into a needed upgrade or repair and things appear to be going much better than you anticipated, don't worry, they'll change. I'm going for band-aids now. See ya all later!

Band-aids? Did you damage yourself that badly? My neighbor asked if I minded having her young kids watch me work on my stovebolt. I said no but they might learn some new words!
Did wack my thumb square on with a hammer while building a fence (to protect my truck!) and it really hurt but not as much as the doc sticking a needle in the nail to drain it! Better now but the nail is falling off.

I keep the band-aids in the garage on the first shelf, saves time. That is unless I make a Big Boo Boo and have to get my honey to put a patch on for me.

Hope all is well BR.....

If you are only looking for bandaids then you should be OK. Ususally it when you have to grab a towel that there is a problem.

I got a piece of a 3M stripping wheel in my eye on tuesday and today is the first normal eye day since. I was having lots of pain and eye goop.
good thing I had hearing protection and gloves on!

My grade 9 shop teacher used to say: "You idiots had better be careful around the tools - blood causes rust - I hate rusty tools!"

nothing wrong with a little transfusion of chevy rust in that open cut to bring out the best in you

i think if you check the DNA in my blood you might find a trace of small block chevy in there along with a little anti-freeze just to keep things moving in the cold up here...

Later: MUCH LATER!

The tranny swap was a success, and the bleeding stopped! (That's probably just a coincidence grin )

Glad the tranny swap was a success. I figger a project wasn't worth it unless there's a little bloodshed. Seems to create a "blood-brother" relationship with the truck. Besides...it makes for a good story, especially if it leaves a scar. "Yeah, I got this one when I put a Muncie in the ol' truck. It was a hard job and painful, but it was worth it." Sort of a badge of honor.

Well it was only a small thing on one finger, but blood was dripping onto the floor, and I did not care for the way my tom-cat was eyeballin' me! He already had a headless mouse in his possession, so I thought I better bandage the finger up lest Oliver begin to think of the finger as fair game.

Hey at least it was still attached!

I remember when each of my boys made the transition from running bawling to mommy with every little scratch to showing the latest injury to me like a badge of honor before going into the house for the first aid kit. It was always kind of touching to watch them suck up those sniffles and "be a man". I still teach in the five year old Sunday School room, and if you didn't teach them to be tough about it you'd have somebody crying every week.

By the way, the toughest one of my kids... was the daughter! She could whoop any one of the boys and never once let them think otherwise.

Just trading one 3 speed saginaw for another. The old one had a bad synchro for about a year, so I always had to slow to under 30 mph to downshift to 2nd. The new one works great.

Boo grin

Boo, congrats on the tranny.

BradB,
I'm with ya on that one buddy! My son hasn't reached that point of not running to mommy (he's 3 in a couple weeks) but, my daughter who's 5 in February has always been the tough one. She leaps off the furniture, conks her head, gets right back up and keeps going. She's a daredevil. It's kinda scary. If we don't make at least one trip to the emergency room for a broken bone, I'll be really surprised. I feel sorry for my son 'cause in a couple years, she's gonna knock heck out of him. Every now and then when she thinks we're not looking, she'll give him a little shove to show him who's boss. I can already tell she's gonna be the one that handles the tough jobs for me, "Hey, loosen that rusty bolt for me would ya". grin

Mugsy, the only trip we made to the ER for a broken bone was when she kicked her brother off the top of the jungle gyms. He was three years older and twice her size! It was really kind of funny. She was SOOOO sweet to him for a few days after that.

Ahh kids, it's all fun and games...
Good times huh? Goooood times.

I got a little bloody a couple weeks ago doing that T5 swap. I was underneath on the creeper and the parking brake bracket was unbolted, the big one that runs across. I kept thinking, "Don't let that bracket fall". Then WHACK! I bump it and it comes down and cracks me right in the chin. With everything attached, that bracket probably weighs 10 lbs. I layed there for a couple minutes and "Oh, hey, there's blood running down my neck". I felt like a knucklehead walking around and going to work with a big scab on my chin. And of course you have to explain a million times why you have a big scab on your chin.

I might have shared this with the board a few years ago when I first joined, but here it comes again.

While building my model workshop behind my home. I was sitting on the floor and was putting together new floresence fixtures together. I moved the light fixture from one side to another to put in the wires, competed that one and pulled another on across my legs to put that one together. About 10 minutes lated I noticed that my legs were gettign sticky and when I looked I noticed a large puddle of blood I was sitting in. It seems that when I pulled one of the lights across my legs, it cut me deep and I did not even know it. Really shape edges, you know.

I moved the lights, took off my belt and made a tournequet above the cut called my neighbor on the phone and went to the hospital to get several stitches. My wife was out shopping and went to check out the shop all she remembers seeing was the 2x3 foot blood puddle with a large a** print in it, and could not figure out what happened. She tried to call me but I turned off the cell phone when I went in the hospital, so she could not get me. That should did ratch up the nerves, as she explained to me.

However when I got back home from the hospital I found her at the table going throught the insurance papers... wink

Sometimes sh*t happens, that no band-aid can fix!

Jake

You really gotta watch those new words especialy the young beginners I was once in the garage trying to " modify something" and hit my thumb straight on and let out the sh#@ word and turned around and saw my 2 1/2 year old son standing there staring he had snuk up behind me and only heard it once and he was able to repeat it perfectly to my wife [several times] and even to the sunday school teacher. I was really under the dog house for that one. :p

That's a good one. When my daughter (now 19) was two she had this cute little thing she would say, "Knock that quack off!" One day after hearing her say it many times I told her, "Ginny, the word is '@#$%'. It's 'Knock that @#$% off." My wife turned to me and said, "That was real smart!"

So I had to spend some time teaching Ginny to not say it at all now that she knew how to say it right. frown
