on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: May 2004 Posts: 204 Member | | Member Joined: May 2004 Posts: 204 | Have any of you guys experienced this site loading very very slow! It started a few days ago with me. When I link to this site's home page it takes several minutes to load and then when I click on General truck talk or anywhere on the site I get the same thing. It has become super slow! I have a DSL connection and do not have a problem with any other site I go to. I thought it might be something with my PC so I tried on several PC's at work and the same thing happens. At work we have a lightning fast LAN with connection speeds of 3 Meg and higher on our PC's. All other sites on the net fom work are quick as lightning but this site. I have to go take a coffee break while it loads. It never used to be this slow. What gives?

Thought it was our computer. | | | | | Joined: May 2004 Posts: 204 Member | | Member Joined: May 2004 Posts: 204 | Glad I'm not the only one. It just took me almost 5 min. to get here and post this reply. NOT GOOD!!

Not as fast as my truck, but still fast. | | | | | Joined: Jul 2003 Posts: 252 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Jul 2003 Posts: 252 | Having the same trouble here as well. But I am experiencing this on one other bulletin board I frequent also. Everyplace else is fine. So I suspect it is something amiss in the virtual world. | | | | | Joined: Apr 2002 Posts: 146 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Apr 2002 Posts: 146 | No its still running slow. And I've only had a problem with this one. Some nasty virus in the forum, maybe?

I took a TV break and came back and it was back to a snails pace. It's running real quick this morning from work. I think there's still some bugs to be worked out. Thanks to all who are working on the problem.

Had it fixed once and it bonked again. Made a trip to the server location (about an hour or so away) after his day job and fixed it. Tested it. Bonk again. So, he did some other mumbo-jumbo stuff to make it work. So we are running again now.
I wouldn't be surprised if he makes a trip down again this weekend to double-check everything.
We had something similar happen a few years ago. Paul spent a lot of time at it, wrote a few scripts to keep it in-line and that did the trick.
So ... I have faith he'll do all that again. We'd be hosed without him.
Thanks Paul!!!

So I turned it off. (Don't worry. I have plenty of other protections in place to keep us from getting hacked.) | | |
