I have a 58 Chev. Stepside that I have rebuilt over the past 10 yrs. Right now, I have the original bench seat but want to update to a newer more comfortable one. Can anyone tell me which bench seats will fit in the 55-59 TF series without too much or any modifications? Thank you. | | | | | Joined: Jul 2004 Posts: 427 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Jul 2004 Posts: 427 | hi 6, The best seats and the easiest to install are ones from a late model chevy or gmc truck. They will bolt straight to the floor and have intergrated seat belts. The ones from a 2 Dr work the best because the back of the seat will fold forward for rear excess. | | | | | Joined: Apr 2005 Posts: 345 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Apr 2005 Posts: 345 | Do these late model seats fit in the AD's as well? | | | | | Joined: Dec 2001 Posts: 14,522 Moderator: Welcome Centre, Southern Bolters, Legion Hall | | Moderator: Welcome Centre, Southern Bolters, Legion Hall Joined: Dec 2001 Posts: 14,522 | tlorber, recent threads here say yes. I was interested because I have a 52panel. They are all over the e-bay site and some good prices but checking your local salvage yard is the best bet and see first hand what you are getting and most times an even better price. | | | | | Joined: Jul 2003 Posts: 10 Junior Member | | Junior Member Joined: Jul 2003 Posts: 10 | Thanks for the info guys. I also checked past threads and got the required info. | | | | | | Anonymous Unregistered | | Anonymous Unregistered | The late model chevy truck seats will not fit in the AD cab very well. The max seat width is 56". Anything longer will cause door interferences. What you can do is use the two late model buckets but you would not be able to use the center console/jumpseat section. As for task force trucks I have also seen the center seat from late model 90-99 suburbans used. You would not be able to slide them fore and aft but the seat bottoms are hinged to fold forward giving nice access to the floor area for electronics, spare tire, etc. That would be my suggestion. They are also plentiful and inexpensive. | | | | | Joined: Apr 2002 Posts: 1,571 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Apr 2002 Posts: 1,571 | Search the archive for seats. You'll be amazed at the number of different seats people have put in their old trucks. | | | | | Joined: Dec 2001 Posts: 14,522 Moderator: Welcome Centre, Southern Bolters, Legion Hall | | Moderator: Welcome Centre, Southern Bolters, Legion Hall Joined: Dec 2001 Posts: 14,522 | my friend used a Mopar seat but can't remember what kind of car but it was a late model. | | | | | Joined: Feb 2001 Posts: 4,095 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Feb 2001 Posts: 4,095 | 2000 or newer bucick lesabre. split 60/40 with center armrest, about 125.00 complete in the mid west.

- the late model GM truck buckets seats will work, but not with the center console. The seats from a 2dr truck will allow you to fold forward -a 2000 or newer bucick lesabre split 60/40 with center armrest will also work. - a late model dodge minivan has bucket seats that will fit
Is that correct? Any others? | | |
