Says Chevy '41 Up right on the box. Barry was pretty good at keeping track of the applications. The only question is how far "UP" is. [on edit] The 1929-1954 Parts Catalog says the same water pump repair kit fits all engines between 1937 and 1954 (and maybe later). [another edit] The 1929-57 parts catalog doesn't list water pump repair kits, but some water pump parts, such as rotors and seals.

I kinda figured it may be for a water pump but I have never disassembled one so I didn't want to assume. Thanks folks. I am trying to figure out what things I have on the shelf that I won't need so they can find a new home.

There is a difference between 1937-1940 water pumps and those from 1941-1953. The earlier ones had a single hole into the block, the later ones had two holes. You can clearly see that it has the gasket for the later pumps, so I would predict it is for 1941 to 1953. Kent
