I removed the windshield to address separation between the halves at the bottom. Turns out the connecting bar is broken on both sides, between the first and second screws. Any ideas how to get the broken ends out? Thanks!
It's not going to just pull out due to rust. You might try drilling down through it to relieve some pressure of the rust, or soaking each end in some Evap-o-rust to see it loosens up. I remember my '37's being a pain to work on.
You're not kidding about the rust! It took several soaks of PB Blaster, vice grips, and a hammer to get out the broken piece! Thanks for the feedback, Joe.
Well, broken connector bar problem solved: since neither end would come out, I wound up driving them further into the frame so the new bars span the holes.
