Any recommendations?

Works for what I need with minimal investment. | | | | | Joined: Dec 2004 Posts: 425 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Dec 2004 Posts: 425 | before you spend time and money on a blast cabinet, you must have a BIG, POWERFUL compressor. I have a 6hp, 60 gallon and it won't even begin to keep up with even a "bucket blaster" set up. | | | | | Joined: Dec 2001 Posts: 14,522 Moderator: Welcome Centre, Southern Bolters, Legion Hall | | Moderator: Welcome Centre, Southern Bolters, Legion Hall Joined: Dec 2001 Posts: 14,522 | After two years of savings I finally got a Skat Blast cabinet from T.P.Tool. Its 46x26x26 and does a great job. I do some bead blasting for some others and it helps keep it up and "payback". TP Tool has a good section to read about air supply, how much etc that is worth the time to read. Just info.... | | | | | Joined: Mar 2006 Posts: 127 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Mar 2006 Posts: 127 | Hmm.. a cheap one may do the job. The only thing I really need the blaster for is for cleaning the striker plates, door hinges, hood hinges.. small stuff like that. It'll only be used for the small things...

At the museum we have a 48" cabinet. I have blasted some 6' long parts by taping a trash bag over the end door. Biggest problem is wide objects, like wheels.
And to run it we have a 15 hp compressor. You don't want to have to pay the electric bill. 40 amp, 208 volt 3 phase and it runs about 40% of the time with the blast cabinet running 55 psi.
