i pulled the headlinner out and found the cab light wires were loose and the end mounts were also loose once tightened up and wires wired tight all 3 worked like a charm, waited till dark and showed the wife how they looked she didnt seem to get it... BUT i was up at 6am this morning just to watch them burn again.... they really make a big ol bolt look cool... i was surprised how bright they were even with athe orig 6volt system... thanks for the advice from this site I HAVE CAB LIGHTS.... now on to the bed and tail lights..... worked once think i have a short somwhere...

'48, looks like I'm one of a few people who understands what it's like to get your cab lights going, congradulations! I love cab lights on older trucks and I've got a set ready to go on my '36 1.5 ton as soon as the cab is done.( I've even got up in the middle of the night and turned em on in the dark garage on another truck. ) Don't tell anyone.

I know where your coming from. The first time I turned on all the firetruck lights, I was in heaven. :-)

SO YOU GOT CAB LIGHTS LUCKY YOU. . .

I got a 62 GMC it has 2 light's one each corner of the roof. . . light's worked for year's they stopped i check all the wires i could get at. . . I HAVE NO IDEA how to get the roof panel off.....i wanted to get the outer working and add 3 inner light's so it's got 5 light's. . .

on the 6066 seires trucks, you have to drill a hole for each light big enough to use a fishing wire (straightened hanger works good) to fish the wire from one light to the other, but the hole has to be small enough for the base of the light to cover it. then you have to fish a wire from one of the corner lights to the back of the cab were the double wall ends. I have done this one a lot of these trucks.

The cab lights is not that hard to do, just takes some time & care, but you mite have plus were you already have the lights on the corners. If you have power to one of the lights then all you need to do is wire from there to the new lights in the center and then the other corner.

I guess... still don't sound like it's going to be very fun to do. . . Fist a i got figure out way they stopped working before i add 3 more light's. . . .

hey "k3000," ill bet you have a base loose on one of the cab lights, on mine i had onle the center light that was working, tried everything to get the others to light, new 6v bulbs...everything, once i pulled the headliner to get to the mounting bolts, found the end ones bols were loose. tightened it up to make a good ground now all 3 shine bright as new....

that very well could be guy. . . but i'm thinking i should wait till i got a new cab not sure if the rotten one is worth all that work. . .

I got 7 running driving truck's to keep running and driving. . .OMG ! 7! where do they keep coming from ... LMFAO ! ! !

i'm going to shiftting my attenchion to the winter driven one's now. . .
