From Donnie:
Here is my new, all original 1948 Chevrolet Loadmaster short flatbed. She has her original 235, low pressure 235 with a 4 speed, 2 speed rear-end. She’s got the short hoist bed, with a p.t.o.
I have the original Owner's Manual and two sets of keys. Everything works on this ol’ gal and the 6 volt system 235 purrs like a kitten.
The paint is also original on this old truck, just buffed it out a little. I plan on redoing the brakes all the way around and rebuild wheel cylinders, master cylinder, etc. I plan on driving her around town when I retire in five years. It'll be fun to haul the kids around town on a hay ride and in the town parade once a year. Still trying the make the wife see her potential.
The day I brought her home (June 25), I was grinning from ear to ear as I pulled her up the drive way. I know I'll be asking a ton of big bolt questions in the forum. It's an awesome feeling puttering down the road, sitting waaayyyy up high in the old Bolt. ![]()
Thanks for listening and all the help from this site. Still grinnin', even at 35-40 mph! More pics to follow on a photo bucket site.
