the old wrecker in the galleryspanky kept the wrecker unit for one of his coe trucks. spanky is a great guy and put up with my newfound truck fever
for a couple of months until we were able to get the wrecker unit off of the truck, not a small task.
any of you guys have any idea why the truck has parking brake cables on the rear drums that arent used and driveshaft style parking brake, im pretty sure it came with the 2 speed and i cant see it wearing out and needing replacing. i will get some pics up when i start the resto. philip | | | | | Joined: Nov 1995 Posts: 5,716 62401 | | 62401 Joined: Nov 1995 Posts: 5,716 | Philip -- Welcome to the sickness!!! Your parking brake set up is probably a later addition. As far as I know, the p'brake originally was the cable set up on that truck. Is the tranny a '51 SM420 perhaps, or a different later trannyt that used the draveshaft brake??

Spanky has really helped me out answering questions for the last couple of weeks, I'd agree he is one of the best!
