After a hiatus of some years from the Stovebolt i'm finally back, life got in the way.
After 18 long years my truck is finally in colour!
It started when I put it off the road to address a badly installed Mustang 2 IFS and snowballed from there.
Several repair panels, much metal massaging and gallons of paint later it's nearly there.
I hope to be cruising the backroads of bonnie Scotland in some shape or form again next year.
Here's a little frontal shot,it's F*rd Kona Blue.(Don't hate me) It took ages to decide on the colour.
Kona Blue full frontal.

Normally I am not a blue fan of cars and trucks but of late I have been attracted to the new trucks on the roads and your truck is right up there for appeal. I also was glad to see the repair work on the cab. I watch a lot of YouTubers where they get rust buckets; they seem to like the rustier the better and have no intention of repairing it. They also park them in an environment that will hasten it. ohwell

I am also planning on a dark blue color (when I finally get there). As Phak1 said, I would really like to see the color out in the sun.

Wow, that is a gorgeous color and blue is my favorite color. Not sure how I ended up with a green truck when it was all said and done.

I kept mine its' original Mariner Blue but that green looks great for these trucks. On a side note, I'm looking for appropriate wheels and yours, even not stock, sure look good on that truck. I see they are 6 bolt. Are they 15" or 16" and what tire size? Where did you purchase them?

I went with 17” to fill the wheel well some. I actually had to special order because of the backspace and I wanted shiny. The tires are 2.35 55 R17. I did that to maintain the correct overall diameter to not affect the speedometer. The rims are Boyd Coddingtons.

WE b OLD there was a little more 'patina' than I would have liked, daily driving it all year round in Scotland had taken its toll.
The lower cowl sections were the worst with some perforation on the inner fender wells of the cab not helped by the POR-15 shambles.
I ended up replacing the entire LH cowl section, thankfully they are now available with the correct vent for 47-50 trucks although the fit was very poor. The radius where the hood meets it was shockingly bad, thankfully my body guy was on top of it.Here's a picture during the final flat and polish process. Hood and door gaps dialled in.

Thank you Sir,I don't have too many pictures as yet but here's a shot from when I was bringing it home from the paint shop.
I just threw the grille on to tie in the front end during transport.
Ready to come home.

The paint code also cross referenced to a Mazda colour from the same era but then F*rd and Mazda have been bedfellows for a while now.

Dark blue works for many kinds of applications. It suggests a rich , luxurious tone.
It most certainly works for that truck in Scotland.

That would be a real head turner here in the States.
May cause neck injuries over there!

Good to have you back with us, Jock!

That color is gorgeous! Even if it's .... well ... that F word. I don't like to toss too many F-bombs ...

FWIW, Ole Charlie, the Stovebolt.com flagship is painted a Jaguar Red. smile

John, you do know that F word owned Jaguar from 1999 to 2008 so Charlie just might be painted with an F word color!

Thanks Boss!
It's kicking my butt and creaking bones at the mo' with some electrical gremlins but it's getting there.
Plans for the interior include a Scottish theme,Mrs Jock kindly donated some funds for my 60th birthday for the interior work provided she got some input,i'm not going to argue!
There will be some Harris Tweed in the mix as a nod to it's location, the seat will be recovered in grey leather with tweed inserts and possibly some on the full size door panels rather than the factory minimalist ones.
It's been a long haul but i'll keep the Stovebolt faithful informed!

P.S. Happy New Year and lang may yer lum reek! chug grin
