Not a whole lot to tell. Didnt give much for it and since the guy was local he delivered it. He had bought it at an auction in south Atl. for $800 plus fees. He tried to get it running but lost interest. He has several other project going too . Lol Truck has headers and a farly new full dual exhaust with flowmasters 40s on it. It was originally a 350, auto truck and has the 3.08/12 bolt pegleg under the rear. Now with the 305 and a Saginaw 3 speed on the column. Someone hung a pedal and changed out the column as well. Did a pretty clean job on the swaps too. 👠Me and my son in law stuck a battery in it and poured in a splash of fuel, but it sounded off as it spun. A friend of mine pulled up thats a full time mechanic and said the valves were pulled down to tight on it. We backed em off a turn and the truck fired off. ðŸ‘. The 2jet carb is just ate up by ethanol ,but I cleaned it out and got it to run for about 30 seconds. The exhaust sounds nice. Someone did a real pro job on it 👠Adjusted the rockers back to where they need to be and can see the cam is healthy on all 16 👠Tires are all bad on the old 76, but it does have 4 matching 8x15s and a Chevy 7x15 rally for a spare. The inside aint bad and both doors are in real good condition. The hood is pretty rough and the tailgate is awol, but it has potential ðŸ˜ðŸ˜

What a great start for your project. Looks like it’s pretty solid. Good luck!

That truck can be turned into a nice little cruiser. I like it.
Thats kinda what I have planned. Im hoping the 305 will run long enough for me to build something better.

It does have some rust here and there on the body ,but not a rustbucket. The chassis is pretty solid. I just want to get it running and driving.

Looking good- - - - -was the 20MM ammo can part of the deal? I just bought two of them on Ebay, to be used as lockable, weatherproof tool storage on a couple of my trailers. Put a 283 3" stroke crankshaft into that 305, and you can have an 8K RPM bumblebee on steroids. There's a special set of main bearings available to do that. Good luck! Jerry

The ammo can was given to me by an uncle and was in the back of the 89 S10 that just left. They work great for holding needed items. It will probably go in this truck now.
I have a .040 over 283 on the stand now. Depending on how the 305 does after it gets a few hundred miles on it. It may go in this truck.

I'm working on destroking a 283 crankshaft to 2 7/8 inches. In a 305 block, that will bring the cubic inch size down to around 250. With a small 4 barrel carb, a roller cam, and a rev kit, that one should rev to around 9K and stay together. I've got a couple of sets of NASCAR Carrillo connecting rods to run in that one. The fiberglass body kit car it's headed for will weigh around 2K pounds. Jerry
