Hello from Western Colorado.

I am joining the forum to hopefully gain some knowledge on throwing a SBC 265 into a 1955 1st series Chevy pickup (truck with the front clip missing) and keep the existing transmission set up.

I have been running around in my 1950 Red chevy pickup for years, it is on a S10 frame with a SBC 350/ 700r4.

Looks like a cool project. I would recommend you drop into the HiPo forum. You will find likeminded hot rodders over there.

Welcome backroads970 to the "Best Old Chevy/GMC Truck website" on the net! shake

Very nice looking '55 1st series and your S10 based '50 too. Fibonachu is spot on for recommending you go visit and post questions about your planned 265 engine swap in the HiPo Shop forum.

You may also want to say howdy to the folks in The Rocky Mountain Bolters side lot forum and introduce yourself to fellow Bolters in your area.

On another note, please take a few minutes to Read The Forum Rules. Following those will make sure future posts are as they should be please and thanks.

Best Regards and look forward to seeing more post in the various forums. thumbs_up

I really like your photo here with the truck in the snow. Always like snow pix. Not sure why.

Anyway. Oh yes. You really need to jump over to the HiPo Shop. You'll get a lot of help there.

Welcome to Stovebolt.

Welcome to the best Old Chevy truck site there is. Consider yourself home. See you around the garage.

I have a handful of cars and trucks between my dad and myself. I recently finished up building a 55 Ford Fairlane with a 390FE tripower setup, I am driving it but still working out the bugs. I have a 1949 Chevy 4 door car turned into a pickup with the worn out 235 6 cylinder still in it, it fits in with this site pretty well.

That's interesting about the cars. The best place to talk about the cars is in the Greasy Spoon. That's the place for the non-truck related stuff.

They may get a kick out of the car-turned-truck there.

This may get me in trouble, but I have to ask--what are the taillights on that F**d? Look like they came from a '60 Buick. Am I right?

The '49 Chev. car/truck is also really cool.
