We have been praying for you and glad to hear you are on the road to recovery. You would need a convention center to celebrate Thanksgiving with your friends who have been praying for you. | | | | Joined: Dec 2001 Posts: 14,522 Moderator: Welcome Centre, Southern Bolters, Legion Hall | Moderator: Welcome Centre, Southern Bolters, Legion Hall Joined: Dec 2001 Posts: 14,522 | Just need to check in and let everyone know I'm not completely back to "normal" but doing good. I still spend to much time in the recliner but hey, its cold outside.
My back is in good shape but since the gallbladder removal its a bear trying to figure out just what I can eat and what works and don't work.....and sadly, Chic-fil-A is closed for remodeling until mid February!. I have been blessed with my son in law spending lots of nights here and naturally my daughter sends a plate from their supper table. I've experimented with lots of food but sad part is the ones I like I can't eat very much. After losing 37 pounds even the doctors say I need to put a little back on...... ...As a diabetic I've cut Insulin use in half but the doctor is worried now about my blood pressure. Seems the "bottom number" is hitting 60 and he says he doesn't want it any lower???
Anyway, enough of my ailments. I consider myself "well" but I'm still moving slow and my overall strength suffered and not likely to improve till spring time!
Thank you again for all the well wishes and prayers at a time I didn't even feel like living. My family and I wish the same for each of you.
I've stayed in touch with TuT when I felt like talking, my voice had improved, and looking forward to when we can all get together again which should be early Spring. More on that will come from TuT. I'll try to check in more often in the forums now that I feel better.
Thanks again to each of you. | | | | Joined: Sep 2010 Posts: 1,576 back yard wrench turner | back yard wrench turner Joined: Sep 2010 Posts: 1,576 | Alvin, it's good to hear from you!

Good to know you're doing better. Hopefully you'll be up to normal speed when the weather warms up.
Hope you and family have a good holiday season.

Welcome back, we've missed you!! | | | | Joined: Oct 2006 Posts: 9,671 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: Oct 2006 Posts: 9,671 | Well Chip......I only drift on by for breakfast here at the spoon every few weeks. But the last update from the Parris estate do sound pretty positive. The old muscles are the first thing to thin down when we're laid up and it takes a lot longer to get them back in shape once they've had a few weeks or months of relaxation. So, hang in there and work that old body back into shape. Sweetie face has had a couple of bouts with pneumonia so she's been sedentary for most of the fall. Needless to say she's pretty unsteady right now. Like our old Stovebolts, if we don't exercise....we get rusty. So, keep on keepin' on old buddy. We still got another 20 to go. Hope your 2023 is much better than the last one. Denny Graham Sandwich, IL
