Could be a railroad truck, if it was darker yellow I'd said a bus.

Good job Scott!
It's a 55 1st series COE.
55COE

I'm owner number three, the first was the Arco tank company in Springfield, MO the second was the yard I bought it from.

Congrat's Mongo. I've just recently aquired a 55.1 COE too. It actually came from your neck of the woods. I bought Greg Pate's truck and Jeff (iowa-trucks-59) and I went after it. I can't wait to get started on it. I may have to come over and see it when we come down for the truck show.
Nice truck,
Scott

Way to go Mongo. Welcome to the COE Fraternity. Looks to have lots of potential. Is it a original 5100 series, or has it been shortened. Protect those hood side emblems, they're price-less.

What was the name of that weird movie in the 70's with Dennis Weaver. The one where a semi chased him around.

Looks like the old Chevy is smiling. I bet that old truck turned some heads going up HWY 13 even if it was on a trailer.

That '55 has just the right amount of ugly, I like it!!!

The movie was "Duel" with Dennis Weaver. Stephen Spielberg's first attempt at directing.

Yup, that trip earned the Suburban the name "Bubba Burb" It's technically just a 1/2 ton but I had the local spring shop rearch the springs and add in an extra main and another small leaf so it's pretty stiff, with the COE on the trailer and an engine in the back it only dropped about 4 inches. Also I've got brakes on the trailer and a controller on the burb. The burb pulled the big load no problem for about 6 hours.

Hey Mongo, Have you done anything to the COE yet. What are your plans for it, with that short wheelbase.

Spanky: No progress yet, hoping to get it in the barn this winter and tear into it, been trying to get the 2 Ton on the road and off the farm. (That project's been going good)
Jarred: The burb is a 89 GMC SLE bought if from my neighbor specifically to haul my swap meet swag, and tow old trucks. I'm actually riding in it right now with the trailer on the back, my buddie is driving and we're heading down to Springfield, MO to the swap and then on to Joplin to the HAMB Drags where I'm towing a 34 Ferd Coupe back home for another buddie. The burb/trailer combo get's lot's of use.
