I have a 1 1/2T and am wondering if a 10 x 20 tire will work or will it rub on the springs. There is an auction coming up and if they will work I'm gunna buy'm?

10:00x20 tires require 7.5x20 rim. You don't state the year of your truck but a 1-1/2 ton would likely be 8:25x20 with 6.5x20 rim or even a 7:50x20 on a 6". 9:00 tires require a 7" rim. If the rims you have will fit the tires you want then I can't imagine that the tires would rub the springs as you would expect to see on a pickup or car. There is a lot more clearance on a cab & chassis. But whatever 10:00 is too big for any 1-1/2 ton truck. Your GVW will determine what you need or what came standard on it. What year is it?

I have 6.5 rims with 8.25 tires ann right now the tire is about 1 inch away from the spring. Th e truck is a 48.

I tried to fit a 9.00x20 on my 53 Reo and they would hit the spring It is supose to 7.50x20. The tires were free so I thought I would give it a try.

Hey Mike, make sure all of your wheels are 6.5 inches wide. I've got a truck that's got mismatched wheels on it. 7.50's on the front and 8.25's on the rear. In my opinion, 8.25's are as big as you'll want to go on a 1 1/2 ton. If we could buy the 7.50's for the right money, I would but them, but you can't,

I've been kinda fond of the 8.25's-thats what I put on my ol' 51 Ford F-5,and they fit fine. They're right-that's about as big as you can go. Another thing you want to watch is how close to each other they get. You see a lot of the one tons running too big tires on the back,and the sidewalls chafe against each other,building heat,especially if you load it down. Not as much of a problem on the bigger trucks,but if you want to try 9.00 or 10.00 tires,you'll want to keep this in mind.

I tried to find 7.50's also in a radial without luck. I'm running the 8.25's all around but it does rub the frame in the front on a stop to stop turn. I'll just make sure I don't get caught in a tight spot.

I'd like the 7.50s too but for $175 each, I'm going with the cheap and becareful how sharp I turn.

Tuckers Tire Company out of Tennesse has new tires. You can get 4 tires 8.25x20 for $340 but it costs you $100 to ship them. They have many other size tires also. He sells on EBAY

He has 4 for 340 + $100 shipping or 6 for $570 + 150 shipping

That doesn't make much sense to me.
$110 a piece if you buy 4
$120 a piece if you buy 6

He also has 7.50x20s for $85each + $25 shipping
