The Stovebolt Site Forums The Parking Lot Big Bolts '66 C-60 clip removal

I believe I finally found a forum to discuss my old C60.
Been working on her for a yr or so.
I pulled the engine with only the hood removed and decided that the front clip needs to be removed to put the new one back in.
How difficult is the clip removal? How heavy I its removed as one piece?
I see lots of things I could do while its off.

Welcome to the Stovebolt and especially to the Big Bolts. The front clip isn't too heavy, usually two average guys can handle it no problem. You may want to remove your tires first so they don't interfere with the process. Good luck,

Thanks Scott. I Pulled it today with no problems other than the stubborn front crossmember mount bolts. Had to cut those two bolts to get 'em out.
With the hood off and the hinges standing up I used a 2x4 thru the hinges and lifted it off with a hoist.
darn, there's alot of bolts.

I have a TBI 350/700r4 from a police package Caprice thats going back in the C60. I only use the truck around the ranch here so the two speed rear end will never see hi range. I figure the 700R4 should hold up ok. We'll see.

I need to find a diagram of the TBI computer now to get her going.
