Tator, not sure if this is helpful - When I rewired my 1954 3600, I ran the new wiring along the bottom of the dash as per the original, behind the instrument cluster and through the "wire loops" as shown in the attached pdf. As far as what you've done, the only concern I would have is any interference with the wiper mechanism or the hood vent mechanicals.

I would not route thru the support. Over or under. I believe you have two connectors thru drivers side (9 pin) and one thru passenger side. (6 pin) Is that correct? It looks like you have WAY too many wires going to the pass side.

The engine compartment goes through the fire wall passenger side of tunnel. Also has wiper motor radio and ignition that is on passenger side of column.

I've never seen another wiring set up on a c10 and did not think there was room under gauge box. There is room where I ran it and should not cause issues. Wire are laid out in engine bay. I'll give this some thought if I want to pull them.

Thanks for input.

Oh crap, I responded to your post without noting that your post was in the 60-66 Trucks Forum, the input I provided would only be applicable to AD trucks.

I have questions on a few wiring issues under the hood.
1st concerning disconnect of the turn and park light on hood and wires coming out firewall. Quick connect is probably there in case you remove hood. I do not want to have that disconnect hanging. Should I put that on hood or firewall?

2nd question, My voltage regulator is located on the front of the engine bay near the horn relay. Looking at wire harness it give me the impression it maybe located on firewall I do not have another c10 to look at 1954 c10.. where should the voltage regulator be located? ( I tried to Google to find out with no luck)

There is a disconnect for the hood lights.
Mine just hangs in the slack for hood opening.
Original harness with two pin connector,

Voltage Reg. is mounted on left side of core support
Next to horn relay.

Agree with not running harness trough support.
Some over the top, most under the support for switches, turn Ect.
Little tape would help.

When it warms up I'll have a look, it wouldn't be hard to reroute as the wires are not connected to engine. It seemed to me those holes were perfect. If not for that purpose. Curious why do you not like the idea of going through there ?

Cons
1. You are going thru a pivot shaft structure. Route away from pedal movement.
2. Serviceability of components and wiring.
3. Factory decided not to do that.

Pros
1. If you like it, do it and call it custom.

Thanks Bart, I'll give a good look and you have good points. ( I thought that is what those holes were for )

I rerouted wires under gauge cluster as recommended. I can see it's much better that way. Thanks for the advice.
