The Stovebolt Site Forums The Parking Lot Big Bolts Trip to the bone yard!!!

Well, it was snowing today in Colorado Springs so I figured it was a good time to take a trip to an old town junkyard that I had passed some time ago...but never had the time to do so.

Wow...pretty cool place. I found numerous 1960 - 1966 vintage trucks in various stages of parting out. Most of them had the engines and trannies gone, as well as some under the hood components. However, I did find numerous ones with fender wells, radiator support panels, some doors, and various interior components.

I did score a good find in which I found a few C60's and they had several parts I was needing...

I was just investigating...but next weekend I hope to go over with some tools and start gathering parts

aren't Junk Yards great places...I love it when the owner says "go look"
I just found a 1947 Chevy fire truck in one.
I'm scared to mention it to my wife.

Does the broken one have a casting number?

Seldom see anything much in the east coast junk yards. Most get crushed due to lack of space
