I'm looking for directions or tips for installing interior sun visor brackets.

My kids gave me a pair of interior sun visors for my 1952 Chevy Truck. They came from Classic Parts.
https://www.classicparts.com/1947-53-Inside-Visor-Bracket-Zinc-Right/productinfo/25-012/

Do any of you know how to mount the left and right brackets?

I can't find any instructions on the web or videos on YouTube.

Thank you for your wisdom.

Gerard

If you can't easily see where they mount you probably have the headliner covering the hole. On each side there should be a large hole in the metal structure surrounded by three small holes for the screws. When I mounted mine I was going thru a fiberglass headliner but knew the approximate location of the mounting surface. I used an ice pick to locate and then open the holes. I don't have a photo of before installing the headliner, perhaps someone can supply that. In the mean time perhaps these photos (if they show up) will give you the approximate location of the underlying metal mounting surface.

That’s a good topic to start Gerard. I didn’t know about this forum four years ago when I bought my ‘57 3200 and installed interior visors. I tried my best to hold them in place and swing them around but I goofed because when I swing them to side window they run down hill a couple of inches. I’ll be interested to here the pros explain this.

Thank you for this. A previous owner cut a hole in the headliner and I can't get the bracket to fit.

I'm guessing they cut the hole in the wrong place.

I may have to remove the entire headliner to find the location you described.

When you mounted your visors, did they fit easily?

I would say they are a snug fit. You have to be careful with the NOS or originals that you tighten them down equally, if you don’t the ears can break off, trust me on that. I used a sharp punch to locate the three screw holes and for the first hole for the arm, I then enlarged that hole carefully with an X-acto knife. Email is sent, that is quite the spam filter application you have.

Brad Allen, I would also like to get a copy of that PDF if possible. I am trying to mount visor brackets in a 1950 pickup that has custom interior and headliner. Would like to have the best chance at not screwing it up. Thanks

WARNING: Don't crank the attaching screws down too tight or you will snap the ears off. Don't ask me how I know...

Here’s a pic of my 54 GMC. Not a real good point of reference but the connection is the same on both sides.

Just a reminder that the visor arms are right or left sided. They don't work switched.

Brad is still active on this site, so maybe a PM might get his attention.
