on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! DIS ignition with "lost spark", triggered by a hall effect sensor in the middle of the block. There is a notched wheel cast into the middle of the crankshaft. Signals the ecm, etc..... I understand some F@#ds had the wheel and sensor on the damper... Makes for easier retrofit to other engines.
Current fleet (subject to change w/o notice) \'49 GMC 3/4-Ton , 60 Austin Healey Frog-eye Sprite (some assembly required), 2011 Dodge Avenger, 2015 Jeep Cherokee. No, they don't all run. My other ride is a (B737)no, (B767)no, A320.... Update... was Embraer E190, now Boeing B787. Knowledge is a wonderful thing, but ignorance means you don't know you can't do something.

MSD, Eletromotive and a few others make trigger wheels for different aps. What are you contemplating? 8-) | | | | | Joined: Feb 2007 Posts: 24 Junior Member | | Junior Member Joined: Feb 2007 Posts: 24 | Thanks for the replies,
I use an electromotive HPV-1 on my Lotus Turbo Esprit, and wondered if any of the stock systems could be adapted for less $$ to other engines.
I really like the idea of losing the distributor, as mine sits underneath the carb float bowls!
Highflyer, I used to have a '59 frog/bugeye sprite. What a great little car!
