on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: May 2020 Posts: 19 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: May 2020 Posts: 19 | Hi,
I purchased a 1958 Apache 3100 (big window) last summer. It was a frame-off restoration and is loads of fun. Unfortunately, it does not have its data plate that shows colors ect. or fender/hood emblems. I’ve purchased a blank data plate however can’t seem to locate a photo of an original so that I can stamp my truck’s info on the blank one. For example, is color red, ruby red or the code for red? A clear photo of an original would be incredibly helpful. Also, I have the body emblems but the holes are not on the hood or fenders ... does someone sell templates so that I can drill the correct holes to install the emblems?
Any and all assistance is greatly appreciated! Doug

For technical questions please post them in the Garage Forums for the best results. Not everyone stops in here at the welcome centre when visiting......Example: your specific question would go well in the Paint and Body forum or perhaps General Truck.
I'll leave this post here though so members who stop in can say hello and get to know you. | | | | | Joined: Apr 2005 Posts: 7,440 Bolter | | Bolter Joined: Apr 2005 Posts: 7,440 | Sorry, Stovebolt.com cannot help you with replacing your VIN plate. Such process is illegal w/o approval of your States licensing authority.

Long bed or short, fleetside or step? I realize 3100 is short. Just want to be sure. 5. Your frame is stamped with the partial VIN, If that matches the Title, you are in better shape. 6. All the hood and fenders have holes. Look on the inside and try to see where they were either filled with bondo or plug welded.
If you are like 50% of the new guys, we will never hear from you again. Hope we do. Hope you answer the questions.

It may have a page for emblem placement. Many of the vendors sell the manuals and you are likely to use it often. Worth the 30.00.

There is one red for 58, "714A" Cardinal Red. Seems you don't know if that red on your truck is original color or not. The trim is usually left blank If you have a short wheel base, it's "114"
Stamp the info in the middle of the space or near.
The Assembly Manual does not have the series designation emblem or the hood emblem hole locations. Fenders/hoods were pre stamped with the holes. You will have to find a 58 and measure the emblem locations. Or find someone selling a 58 fender/hood and measure.
