Found an interesting picture while looking through my albums. A1949/50 Deluxe cab that has the delivery spears added, this is a strip from 1953! Proves that people wanted this look while the trucks were still in production, interesting that it never made it to the general pick-up lines.

Probably saving a few bucks: buy a pair and put one on two different trucks? headscratch

The bumper guards were a good thing back in the day.
In my "younger" days I've saw many vehicles latched together due to someone getting a push start and one of the bumpers either went under, or over, the other one especially if they hit a "dip".
....anyone giving a push start would, at the last moment, ask "do the bumpers match". Did it a few times myself. LOL

I'd rather walk and carry a Chevy hub cap than ride in a Ferd.
I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you smile

The hood ornament on that truck is also different...it also looks like there was a 3rd (bottom) sergeant stripe that was removed?

I wonder if there are any other "official" renderings/photos/sketches from "back in the day" of what the proposed fender spear/sergeant stripe arrangement would have been like on the AD trucks. Any insight as to why GM did not move ahead with this trim on the pickups? We all have seen photos of what guys have actually done over the years, especially recently with the reproduction parts now available.
