You may have to put different heads on,

Compressor mounts on right side. It is about 25 miles from here, but i will be there this weekend. Some A/C brackets like to use the front mounts on a small block. So if your 283 engine mounts are on the side all the better. You will also want heads with the bracket holes drilled in them. | | |
